Two women, aged 18 and 48, and a 43-year-old man were charged in connection with assaulting police officers and threatening and abusive behaviour, according to Police Scotland. (source The Herald)

“satisfied about the legitimacy and proportionality” of the response.

Here are the latest NRS figures for excess deaths for week 53 (which overlaps with 2021).
Cancer +18
Dementia/Alzheimer -24
Heart disease/stroke – 12
Respiratory -52
Covid +150
Other + 58
Total + 138
Cancer deaths are slightly above average (because people couldn’t get access to treatment)? Deaths from the sinister-sounding “other causes” (Suicide? Overdose? ) are well above the five year average. Let’s do some arithmetic. The total number of “negative” deaths is 24 plus 12 plus 52 equals 88. So in theory 88 of the people who died from covid would have died from something else that week anyway. Perhaps they did, and were put down as covid deaths on the basis of a positive test. Add on the excess “other” deaths that would not normally have happened. 88 plus 58 makes 146. Now add on the excess cancer deaths which also would normally not have happened that week. 146 plus 18 makes 164. When “negative” deaths plus other cause deaths plus cancer deaths exceed covid deaths then you have to ask yourself if the government’s panic-induced measures to combat covid really are worth it. Ah, someone says, but we must protect the NHS. In week 53 there were 17 more deaths than usual in hospital and 574 fewer hospital deaths than usual during the epidemic period starting in week 12. NHS Scotland is obviously not overwhelmed. At the same time 112 more people than usual died at home during that week, only eight, apparently, from covid. I realise that covid, not just in Scotland but everywhere, is about emotion, not facts and figures. However, I put up this comment in the forlorn hope that some readers of the National might be inspired to get mad as hell about what is being done to them.
